Get ready football fans. Head over to your nearest Costco or supermarket to pick up your favorite treats because you’re going to want something to munch on while your eyes are glued to the TV. This Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons and The New England Patriots will go head to head in the 51st Super Bowl at the NRG Stadium in Houston. The game is set to air at 5:30 p.m. CST on FOX.
The players will walk on the field, knowing that there will be only one winner. The stands will be filled with fans cheering and each player knows that they can’t let their team, city and themselves down.
As a New Englander, I know for a fact that this is not just a game, but a holiday for my people.
At Xavier University of Louisiana, I must admit that I miss football like CRAZY. My school doesn’t have a team. Since doesn’t have a football team, some of my peers didn’t even know who’s playing in the Super Bowl.
To the average football fan, they know for a fact that this game might be a close one. Each team’s all-star players, Tom Brady and Matt Ryan will leave it all on the field.
This will be the Patriots Ninth Super Bowl, while this is the Falcons’ second appearance. Although the Falcons may lack in experience on this level of play, their top- ranked offense might say otherwise on game day.
Football fans will be tuning in all day specifically for the game, while other viewers will have their eye on the commercials that are considered some of the best of the year.
But we can’t forget the highlight of the night, which is always the half time performance. From having Janet Jackson, Beyoncé to the Rolling Stones for past performances, many viewers will be at the edge of their seats waiting in suspense. Lady Gaga will take the stage Sunday and most likely go down memory lane with her alternative pop hits like “Poker Face” or “Bad Romance.”
So I hope you have your list for the grocery store because like I said, you don’t want to miss the game.
